My microworkers review

You may have come across microworkers and heard that you can make some money online with microworkers. You may be wondering what it’s all about, and whether microworkers is a scam or a legitimate way to make money online. I’m glad that you’re here doing your research about microworkers, because I have this investigated this fully and can provide some insight for you.

In fact, the main goal of my site is to research and provide you, my wonderful readers, with ways to make legitimate income online, and to steer you away from sites and products that will not help you in your journey.

My microworkers review will take you through the following sections:

  • What is microworkers.com?
  • How microworkers works
  • Is microworkers legit?
  • My recommended way of making money online

What is microworkers.com?

Some basic info:

Website: https://www.microworkers.com

The idea behind microworkers is that it’s a platform connecting Employers with Workers from all around the globe. Employers offer tasks that get completed by Workers. Workers are paid for the successful completion of the tasks.

Microworkers is similar in nature to some other sites I have reviewed:

Amazon Mechanical Turk

Clickworker

Anyone can sign up as a Worker, and anyone can sign up an Employer.

From the Worker’s perspective, you can complete small tasks when it suits you. You’re in charge of how much you complete, and when you complete it.

Employers can be anyone who has tasks for others to complete. This is how they describe appropriate tasks for Employers to assign according to their site:

“Whether you need traffic for your website, comments or a fresh post for your blog, bookmarks or likes for a video you want to be popular, or testing and review for your new application, hiring Workers from our program ensures you affordable, quick and top quality results.”

Microworkers.com

You can be a Worker as well an Employer.

Signing up to microworkers is free. You’ll be asked for your full name, date of birth, email address, and mailing address. you’ll then be sent a verification email that you must activate before you can commence as either a Worker or an Employer.

Here’s a screenshot of the types of tasks available the day I signed up:

Microworkers review - the types of tasks available

TTR refers to ‘time to rate’ in days.

TTF refers to ‘time to finish’ in minutes.

For example, the first task in the list, ‘mix tape sign up and like’ will take you three minutes to complete, and it will take one day to be rated by the Employer.

How microworkers works

I wanted to try a few tasks to test whether they took the amount of time they said. However, in order to do this, I had to provide my mobile phone number. All the tasks I clicked on required my mobile phone number, including the English proficiency tests, because I am yet have a PIN number.

Microworkers review - you need to provide your mobile phone number

I decided not to proceed any further because I did not want to provide my personal mobile number to anyone for my own personal security. I get enough spam on my phone already, even though I’m on the no call register. If this is not a concern for you, then you’ll be able to proceed further.

Getting paid for your hard work

There is a minimum payout of $10.

Microworkers relies on a PIN being activated before a withdrawal of funds can take place. The PIN is mailed to your mailing address after you make your first withdrawal request. This is an automated process, and they say it is to ensure that all Workers are verified to prevent multiple accounts. You must enter the PIN once you receive it in order to be paid.

The PIN system seems to cause some issues for Workers as it can take up to four weeks before you receive the PIN. If you don’t receive the PIN, you need to request another, and wait again. Four weeks seems like a long time to me to wait until you can start the process to be paid. It’s almost as though they hope you don’t pursue payment.

Payments are sent twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Is microworkers legit?

Microworkers appears to be a legit site, and there certainly are Workers who get paid. Employers have also had their tasks successfully completed. However, everything may not be as it seems, and I have investigated what people say about it online, including their experiences.

It seems that there are a few concerns with the pay, including the timing of the pay, and whether people are paid at all.

There are also seems to be concerns about the volume of work – there just isn’t that much available.

Here are some comments I found on sitejabber.com, as recent as November 2018:

It’s certainly not all bad. There are good reviews of microworkers as well. Here’s an example from mouthshut.com:

  1. Did you really get paid?  I tried a few things like this in the past and well, lets say to be positive time passed and well I can’t get that time back and was not paid.  A few extra dollars here and their do come in handy though so if this works, I might look into it.  I can however endorse the other program you talking about. I have nothing but good things to say about them.
