What is CashCrate?
Updated April 2019: CashCrate is no longer a site where you can earn money. It has turned into a review site.
I have removed links for you to join to sign up as this is no longer an option.

The types of tasks you can expect from CashCrate
CashCrate is a combination site that allows you to make money through multiple channels – surveys, offers, cashback shopping, referrals, and earning prizes through interaction:
Signing up to CashCrate
To get started with CashCrate, login to their homepage by inputting your email address, and creating a password.
You’ll then need to add various personal details about yourself, such as name, address, birthday, gender and ethnicity. You’ll also need to verify your email, and you’re ready to go. It’s straightforward and will only take you a couple of minutes.
To start doing surveys, like all survey sites you need to complete some demographic information about yourself so that you can be matched with appropriate surveys. It may take you a little while, as there are several survey platforms connected, and each get you to complete some information about yourself, so you may feel like you’ve answered the questions already (and you probably have!). But, if you want to get matched to surveys then that’s what you need to do. Otherwise, you won’t be matched with many surveys. The key to sites like these is volume – if you want to make any real money, you need to be doing lots of surveys. So, the more you can sign up to, the better.
Making a start with CashCrate
I would recommend just clicking on something that you find interesting and making a start!
I clicked on “Videos & More” to investigate that further, and was again asked questions about myself that I’d answered elsewhere within the site. This is something you will need to get used to with CashCrate – answering the same questions about yourself many times over.
Anyway, once I’d answered the questions, loads of different things became available for me to do. These included surveys, offers, installing apps, and other various bits and pieces.
Games
You can play games on CashCrate and earn a bit here and there by taking surveys and offers in between. All I would say here is BEWARE! If you’re there to make money, you might want to stay away from the games because you’ll be too distracted.
CashCrate Referral Program
For anyone who visits my site often, you’ll know that I love affiliate marketing. Passive income is certainly the way to go if you can. Referral programs are a form of affiliate marketing. They operate by providing people with your own referral link, and when they earn money, the organisation pays you a fee. The person doesn’t miss out on anything, you are simply getting paid by the organisation because they now have a new site user that has been referred by you.
Cash Crate has four different Referral Levels that can be reached. As you refer more and more active users, your rank gradually increases, and so does the amount you earn.
Level 1: Bronze
All users start out at this level. You don’t need any active referrals or earnings. You earn 20% of survey and offer earnings.
You also get a $3 bonus when each referral makes their first $10. You get $0.05 for each qualifying Bonus Survey item your referral completes, and $0.05 for each qualifying Bonus Offer your referral completes.
Level 2: Silver
To be eligible for this level, you need 25 Active Referrals or $100 First Level Referral Earnings. At this level, you earn 25% of survey and offer earnings.
You get paid on the 1st of every month rather than the 15th. You have the payment choice of Check, PayPal, or Direct Deposit (U.S. only) for your payment method. The $1 referral bonus also becomes available: $1 when a referral in the United States, Canada, or United Kingdom completes their first survey or cash offer. (What about Australia? Feeling sad : ( …)
Level 3: Gold
To be eligible for this level, you need 100 Active Referrals or $250 First Level Referral Earnings. At this level, you earn 25% of survey and offer earnings.
At this level, weekly payments become available.
Level 4: Elite
The Elite level requires 500 Active Referrals or $750 First Level Referral Earnings. At this level, you earn 30% of survey and offer earnings. This is the highest referral commission available.
The payout minimum is still $20 for monthly payments, and $100 to qualify for a weekly payment.
Making money through affiliate referrals is an excellent way to earn passive income. You are making money passively through the work of others. So sign up to CashCrate and start sharing your affiliate links!
Is CashCrate worth it?
Based on my experience of the site, and the research that I’ve done, CashCrate does pay out when you earn. CashCrate is a legitimate site, it is not a scam, and you can absolutely earn money from it.
For people who like doing surveys, offers and games, then you might enjoy CashCrate. If you’re not into surveys, offers and games, and prefer doing work tasks to make money online, then you might prefer something like Clickworker and Mechanical Turk which I’ve also written about.
With CashCrate, you can participate independently, and according to your own schedule. For anyone who wants to test whether you can really make money online, this is a good introductory way to confirm that you can.
CashCrate might appeal to:
- Anyone who wants to supplement their income and doesn’t mind surveys. offers and games
- Students
- Anyone who wants to work from home, and on their own schedule
- Anyone who wants to expand their affiliate marketing efforts
- Anyone who wants to test the ‘work online’ model
If you’re looking for some extra money and some fun along the way, then CashCrate might be for you.
If you are looking for a more substantial and long term way to make real money online, have a look at my top choice:
