What would you change to create the life you want in 2019?
2019 is only a day away! At this time of year, many people start to consider the year ahead, including questioning whether they stay doing what they are currently doing for another year, or whether it is time to make a change.
A great quote I read just the other day was:
“My biggest fear is being in the same place this time next year. Ask for success.”
I wish for everybody to be able to ask for success, and believe that they can be successful. That can sometimes be hard. In my business of helping people create their very own online businesses from home, I hear that many of you are concerned. The sorts of concerns I hear about are:
- worry about company downsizing and restructure
- reduction of staff numbers resulting in more work, more stress, but no more pay
- being at the mercy of an employer
- concern about the job market
- concern about finding flexible employment that will suit your needs at home
- money worries because your job doesn’t pay enough
- being stuck in a job that you just don’t like but find necessary
Many people are trying to find alternatives to traditional employment, and are turning to the internet for help. Many of my readers are seeking to start their own career from home, so they can be in charge of their own futures.
They are seeking to create the life they want, and I applaud them for that.
Are you seeking to create the life you want?
Have you really thought about where you want to be this time next year?
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be in the same place this time next year. I want to move forward and achieve some great new things in my business.
That won’t just happen because I want it to. It will take action. It will also take planning and thought. It might even take some research and for me to step out of my comfort zone.
Below are some questions to consider heading into the new year to get you thinking about what it is that you really want to achieve, and to get thinking about what needs to change in order to create the life you want and deserve.
If you are someone who does not normally set any goals, or who doesn’t like the idea of it, you may like to list your top few things you want to achieve. Dream big when you’re thinking about those things. Do your best unconstrained thinking. What do you desire most?
Consider the extent to which you feel:
- You deserve an abundant life
- You are ready to reap the rewards of your hard work
- You are serious about getting significant results in your life
- You are highly motivated and committed to the journey of achieving success with your own business
- You are a big thinker, or have the potential to be a big thinker
- You are willing to put in the time and effort to genuinely change your life
- You believe that success is a possibility for you
I hope that you agree with some or all of these statements.
You may not be a big thinker at the moment because you are feeling constrained. But you need to believe that you can be a big thinker, and you need to believe that success is possible for you.
Planning is required to create the life you want to live
Now consider …
What is it that you truly want to create in your life?
Write this down. Where do you want to go? What do you want to do? What things do you want to have? What do you want to learn? What do you want to achieve? What do you want to provide to your friends, family or charities? Write down any other goals you have.
With each thing you wrote down, assign a dollar figure next to it of the approximate cost to achieve this goal.
From here, tally up the amount you need to be able to achieve these goals. With this goal exercise complete, you can determine from this if what you are currently doing will allow you to achieve what you want, or if you need to make a change to make it happen!
Did you discover that you need to make some changes in order to create the life you want?
Even if you don’t want monetary change, but a lifestyle change, this exercise is still important.
Change is a part of life, and change is needed for us to grow and improve our situations
The idea of change can be quite scary.
I find the concept of change fascinating and have written a post about embracing change. It’s based on the book “Who Moved My Cheese” and I encourage you to check out the post here:
I’ve also written about Kotter’s 8 step change model. If you’d like to check out the post it is here:
It’s also possible to make small changes in your life that can add up to larger changes in time. You actually have to make the decision to make a start! Then you can take the steps you need.
Creating the life you want in 2019
It is easier than you think to be on your way to creating your new life. It might seem daunting, but it doesn’t need to be.
You can build your own online business (or multiple online businesses!) with no experience, and make money using affiliate marketing techniques. I had never built a website before. I didn’t know what affiliate marketing was. It never even occurred to me that it was something that I could do. That wasn’t my background, and I had no technical experience. Yet I followed some training, and here we are.
The steps are simple:
