Welcome to my InboxDollars Review! I’m so glad you’re here.

You may have come across InboxDollars and heard that you can make some easy money online with InboxDollars. You may be wondering what it’s all about, and whether InboxDollars is a scam or a legitimate way to make money online.

My InboxDollars review will take you through the following sections:

  • What is InboxDollars?
  • How InboxDollars works
  • Is InboxDollars legit or is InboxDollars a scam?
  • My recommended way of making money online

Let’s dive in!

What is InboxDollars?

Some basic info:

  • Website: https://www.inboxdollars.com
  • Founder: Daren Cotter
  • Available in: USA, Canada and UK
  • Price: Free to join
  • Operating since: 2000
  • Recommended: Not really. There are better survey sites, and better ways to make money online.

How InboxDollars works

InboxDollars is a get paid to (GPT) site offering a range of tasks and activities for you to do in exchange for cash. It is important to note that it is cash you’re earning, and not gift cards or in-store credit that you can use on their websites. InboxDollars appears to be predominantly about surveys, but there are other things you can do like watch videos, get cash back on games and online shopping, get paid to read email, and get access to coupons for everyday products.

Is InboxDollars Legit or is InboxDollars a Scam?

InboxDollars is a legit company. They have been in operation since 2000, and actually have a fairly impressive track record of growth. In 2005, InboxDollars acquired SendEarnings, and they launched InboxPounds in the UK in 2012, and expanded into Canada with DailyRewards in 2014.

They are accredited with the Better Business Bureau, and have an A+ rating:

However, it doesn’t take long to find MANY poor reviews of InboxDollars. Many of the poor reviews relate to:

  • InboxDollars closing accounts prior to people being able to cash anything out
  • Very time-consuming to earn, sometimes taking months to reach the payout threshold
  • Accounts not being credited when money has been earned

Here’s a sample of reviews I found on Sitejabber:

So whilst InboxDollars is a legitimate company, and InboxDollars has been around for a long time and certainly does pay people out, there are too many complaints about it for me to be able to recommend it.

There is also the real concern about surveys. Typically, even where there are no issues with the company actually paying out what people earn, surveys is not a great way to earn. Typically in order to make much money at all with surveys, you need to sign up to multiple survey platforms and complete fairly detailed demographic surveys about yourself before being eligible to complete paid surveys. This can be VERY time-consuming. Once you’ve done the initial eligibility surveys, the paid surveys can be few and far between, which is why you need to sign up to multiple platforms. The payouts are typically very small. For example, InboxDollars surveys can pay something like $0.50 for a 26-minute survey, and $0.25 cents for a 9-minute survey.

When you consider that the payout threshold is $30, that’s a lot of your precious time! Users have reported that InboxDollars will waive a $3 transaction fee if you wait to cash out at $40.

You certainly can make some extra pocket money with InboxDollars, if you don’t mind how long it takes (and if you’re willing to risk that they won’t shut down your account prior to you cashing out!).

Overall, I’m giving InboxDollars the thumbs down. You can do much better than that …

There is an awesome way to make money online

Don’t waste your valuable time to earn a few dollars here and there on questionable survey sites.

If you are looking for a substantial and long term way to make real money online, go for something that is reputable. My preferred platform allows people to sign up for free to have a look around and see if it’s for them.

You will be shown, step by step how to choose an area you are interested in, build a website based on your chosen area, attract visitors to your website, and then earn revenue from your website using the affiliate marketing model. You even get two free websites, and the first ten modules of training for free.

The Affiliate Marketing Model

If you’re not familiar with affiliate marketing, the basic model is as follows:

Affiliate Marketing Model to Make Money Online

Remember that once you have built your own niche website and learnt how to attract visitors (using free methods), you can repeat this with as many of your own websites as you like.

The platform is perfect for ANYBODY who wants to find a way to earn money online. You don’t need experience, and you don’t need to be technical.

What you see is what you get. Nothing hidden, and nothing over promised. I personally use this platform and it is a genuine way to learn how to make money online the right way, using legitimate techniques and methods.

If you have any comments or questions please leave them below, and I’m always happy to help you out.

  1. Inbox Dollars is decent for someone who wants to pocket a little bit of extra cash, but it takes so much time to just make a few dollars. Like you said, it’s better to launch your own website and focus on building an online business.

But, I will say this: Inbox Dollars is far from a scam. Many years ago I was using them to earn here and there. It’s a good place to kill time while earning a little something.

    • Hi Nate,

Thanks for sharing your experiences with Inbox Dollars. It does seem like a big time killer / waster to me but at least there’s a bit of pocket money at the end!

Thanks for stopping by. All the best Nate.

  2. Great review here on InboxDollars. I hadn’t heard much about this GPT site. Generally I am not the biggest fan when it comes to surveys, but I am always looking for different angles when it comes to making money online. With InboxDollars I see that there are lots of complaints, which is never a good sign. I would assume that the majority of people dislike the payouts when it comes to this program. Your Wealthy Affiliate link is a much better option, well done!

    • Hi Pentrental,

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. I do think there are much better long term options than surveys, that’s for sure. I thin surveys can be good for people who want to test the ‘can I make money online’ theory, and the answer is of course yes. Once there is confidence that making money online is possible, there are far better ways to make a more substantial income.

      All the best to you.
      Cheers
      Melissa
