What is Textbroker and how does Textbroker work?

Textbroker is a marketplace for authors and clients. Clients detail the types of written work they have available, and authors complete the work for payment.

Signing up to become an author is easy. After you have confirmed your email address, you’ll be asked to submit a short application (the Textbroker editorial test) so that the quality of your writing can be assessed by the Textbroker editorial team. Your application will result in a preliminary quality classification, and you will then have access to start work on client orders.

When you are starting out, after the first five articles have been completed, the editorial team will put a hold on your account while they assess your rating again to ensure it corresponds with your talent. This review process can take 5 to 7 days.

Textbroker.com Review - How It Works

Quality and Ratings

Your work can be rejected for one of two reasons: quality or copied content. It’s important that you have check your grammar and punctuation, you have capitalized your words appropriately, and your work has a legible flow.
All articles are checked for duplicate content. If your work is flagged by the duplicate content filter, you may be asked to look at the article again to ensure that it’s unique. You will have 24 hours to revise your article.

If there is no duplicate content, your article goes to the client. The client reviews your work and has three days to either request a revision or accept your work. If the client doesn’t take any action after the three days, your work is automatically accepted.

Upon acceptance of your article, your Textbroker account is credited.

Ratings are important because the higher your rating, the greater access you will have to higher rated articles which pay ore than lower rated articles.

Ratings are based on:

  • Writing to the quality level of the order
  • Order briefing compliance
  • Spelling and grammar
  • Client satisfaction
  • Filler content
  • Typos/misspellings
  • Syntactical skills

Your rating is based on the quality of your work, taking into account of those factors, including the adherence to client briefings. The client may have specific requests, such as keywords, tone, voice, point of view and formatting and your rating will take into consideration how well you have complied with those instructions.

You will have access to assignments at your level and below. For example, if you have a 3-star rating, you will have access to assignments that 3-star and 2-star assignments. If you complete a 2-star assignment, you be paid at the 2-star level, regardless of your 3-star rating.

There are five levels of ratings:

1-star authors – when an author’s rating falls to 1-star, they are not allowed to accept Open Orders. This rating usually means they fail to meet quality standards, which may include spun articles or writing that is incomprehensible.

2-star authors – this level usually represents only a basic understanding of English grammar.

3-star authors – may only contain a few minor typos, and commas are used correctly approximately 50% of the time or more. The writing at this level makes logical sense and will have a discernible argument.

4-star authors – minor grammatical errors only if any at all. Capitalisation and complex punctuation will be used correctly. The arguments will be strong. The average person would consider a 4-star article to be very good. This level is the level at which most clients order.

5-star authors – professional-grade writing. Articles will be nearly flawless. Arguments will be strong, insightful and compelling. Work will be thoroughly researched. Authors at this level are handpicked by the Textbroker editorial staff.

Types of Orders

Open Orders are that are open to everybody based on your quality ranking. You can accept one Open Order at a time, and can start another immediately once an order is completed.

Direct Orders are those where may specifically request you for orders. As an author, you have the ability to set your own word price for Direct Orders. You can also specify different price points for each client who wants to work with you. You can contact clients and negotiate prices using the Textbroker internal messaging system.

You can accept as many DirectOrders at a time as you’d like. Just make sure you complete them all when they are due.

Team Orders are available when you join or are accepted to a client’s team. Team Orders are accessible to all authors on the team, and you can only accept one Team Order at a time.

How do you get paid with Textbroker?

Payment is made via PayPal only. You must have a minimum of $10 in your account in order to cash out. Payments can be made once a week.

So if you’re a prolific writer, you might be able to earn some great bonuses.

Is Textbroker legit?

Textbroker is absolutely legitimate, and if you enjoy writing and can produce quality articles, then Textbroker is a good option for you. If you are a professional writer, you could probably do better elsewhere, as the pay rate does appear to be quite low and you will likely be shortchanging yourself on this platform.

Textbroker are not accredited through the Better Business Bureau (BBB), however they do have an A+ rating:Textbroker Review - BBB Rating
