Is Affilorama Legit? You Bet It Is!
I love to help people build their own online careers from home, and one of the ways I do this is by researching products, services and various platforms that may help you on your journey. I particularly love the affiliate marketing model as a way to make a long term and substantial business for people looking to build a true career online.
Affilorama is one of those things that I believe can help set you up for an online career. Affilorama has been around since 2006 so they really are in it for the long haul. They have changed the structure of their programs quite a bit over the years.
In a nutshell, Affilorama is a membership site designed to teach you how to do affiliate marketing. They offer learning in a range of different formats, such as lessons, videos, forums, tools and analytics to support your business, and interviews.
Whilst it is not my top recommendation, there are many features of Affilorama that can give you some great information, and you can start out for free.
>> Here is my top recommendation to get a head start in affiliate marketing <<
There are three key components to Affilorama, and I will go through each of them for you. I must admit I did find it slightly confusing in the beginning about exactly what the offering was, and what was free and what was an upgrade.
I will share with you what I have found.
There are three main options:
- Pathway to Passive
- AffiloTools
- AffiloJetpack
Before we get into these three main options, there are some great free resources for you so that you can make a start and really test out whether you think the platform can add some value for you.
There is some excellent material within these free resources, so even if you do not sign up for any paid membership, you might find some value here.
Pathway to Passive $37
Pathway to Passive will teach you:
- How to find profitable niches and products
- How to attract the right people to your site through finding profitable keywords and writing product reviews
- How to convert your visitors into buyers
- How to create content that attracts links
You will The full “Pathway to Passive” guide is a blueprint for building passive profit content websites.
AffiloTools
AffiloTools provides web stats for online marketers. It is designed to be a data and analytics one-stop shop to track things like rankings, competitors, keywords, and a few other things. There is a basic version included with the free membership. There are some other paid options to allow for more websites, more keywords and more search engines per website:
AffiloJetpack $997
So here’s where Affilorama starts to lose me a bit. The headline for AffiloJetPack is “get the hugely powerful system for ‘money-making machines’ that earn you an income on autopilot. (And the best thing is, it’s done for you)”
For those of you who visit my blog often, you’ll probably know that I’m typically not a fan of systems that purport make money for you on autopilot.
Component #1 - emails designed to build trust and make sales.
This is a pre-written newsletter sequence, created to build maximum subscriber loyalty and sales. If people to subscribe to your list, the emails are designed to make you sales.
Component #2 - "bait" to entice more subscribers.
This component relates to three "free reports" to give away to help you build your subscriber list.
Component #3 - a website built for you with just a few clicks.
AffiloJetpack will build and host a WordPress website for you, You will just need to customize it. The good this is, 12 months of hosting is included, there is a built in header graphic tool if you haven't had any experience with creating web pages, and you own the website which means you can move from Affilorama to another web hosting service of your choice if you would like to do that.
Component #4 - website content.
Affilorama call these "cheat sheets" to get better quality articles for less work, less effort and less money. They say this is the easiest way to get hundreds of top-quality, completely unique articles.
You will get twenty of these cheat sheets. At this point I was wondering how they can possibly be called unique articles, but on further investigation it seems they are not complete articles. They provide lots of information but a writer (either yourself or someone you outsource this to) can use the sheet sheets as a basis for an article. You will still need to do some work and expand them. As they say, you will need to "connect the dots".
AffiloJetpack gives you a choice of 18 niches. You will get a theme installed with your WordPress website. You get five of those websites for the price of $997.
Pros of Affilorama
There are definitely some great free resources for you to review and use without having to pay anything.
You have the opportunity to sign up for free and look around the platform so you can make an informed decision is a plus in my books.
There is a 60-day money back guarantee.
Cons of Affilorama
The community did not seem particularly active to me. If you're looking for support from an active affiliate marketing community, you may be disappointed by the lack of activity in the Affilorama forum.
The Affilorama training makes it sound like turning existing content into your own unique content is easy to do and will make your job as an online marketer less difficult. I don't believe this to be case. Using preexisting content has to be unique or it won't rank in the search engines, so it will take you some work to really turn it into your own flavour of writing, and add value to your readers. Don't be fooled into thinking that your twenty cheat sheets are going to magically turn into unique and interesting posts without a great deal of effort from you.
The founder of Affilorama, Mark Ling, sends emails about 'business opportunities' that are unrelated to Affilorama. Now because Mark Ling has a very solid reputation in the industry, when I received the first cross promotion email from him I was interested to know more. But digging deeper it seemed like what he was promoting was a get-rich-quick scheme from people who didn't seem reputable to me. I have to say I was a bit disappointed, and for me it did taint my experience a little of Affilorama. I know I can his unsubscribe at any time, it just made me question his integrity a bit I guess - which is a shame because he does know what he's on about it when it comes to affiliate marketing.
Is Affilorama legit? Yes! My final word on Affilorama
Affilorama has an excellent free membership option and appropriately priced premium offers for what you get. The community, whilst not as active as I'd have liked, is helpful and the quality of the training and resources are very good. I do recommend Affilorama.
I said at the beginning that they were not my top recommendation. My top recommendation is Wealthy Affiliate, and my reasons are as follows:
Wealthy Affiliate vs Affilorama
Wealthy Affiliate allows you to sign up for free to have a look around and see if it’s going to suit you. You even get two free websites, and the first ten modules of training for free. You will be taught how to implement the affiliate marketing model:

Explore the platform and get your free account today. It might be one of the best decisions you’ll make.
Please leave me any comments or questions and I'm more than happy to help.
Affilorama is a company that is there to take your money but not to help you succeed online in my personal opinion
I was a member there not so long back and whenever I had a question that needed answers the community wasn’t there to help me, neither was the site support if I’m honest!
I was expecting a lot more from Mark Ling as I have read a lot about him and his successes but it didn’t really live up to its expectations, to be honest
Do you think its worth upgrading to the Affilorama Premium or do you think they teach you everything in the free version?
Hi Matthew,
Based on what your experiences have been I would say no – don’t upgrade!
In my view, Wealthy Affiliate is a better option for Premium training. Not only is the training great, the support is there 24/7. They’ve never let me down.
All the best,
Melissa
Hi Melissa! I landed upon your site and read one of your posts where you show how our office can be anywhere in the world. In that post you showed your kids having fun in a playground (Inflatable World) and also enjoying indoor soccer.
I realize that this is possible through affiliate marketing. I have eagerly read your post and I liked both options presented here: Affilorama and Wealthy Affiliate. I think it won’t do any harm to join both platforms and test drive them myself (since both are free to join). Thank you!
Hi Henry,
So glad you’ve found my posts helpful! Let me know how you go with them, and I wish you all the best.
Cheers
Melissa
Thank you for your review on Affilorama. I have not heard of this site before. Seems like it is another great site for learning affiliate marketing and creating own business online. Thank you for all the details and describing the components of Affilorama. I would have tried it if I didn’t join the wealthy affiliate program. I joined the wealthy affiliate platform last month as a premium member.
Hi Fahim,
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’re enjoying your Wealthy Affiliate experience so far. If you’ve only recently joined I wouldn’t recommend joining Affilorama. There is plenty of training and information to get he WA platform without you needing anything else.
Wishing you all the best.
Cheers
Melissa
I don’t know about this other place you are recommending, but I’m a member of Wealthy Affiliate and I totally agree that it has all of those positive check-points. The community is second-to-none, a total first place winner in getting 24/7 help and guidance for internet marketing. They’ve been online and evolving since 2005, with 1.4 million members and growing, active members, many of them millionaires, it’s without a doubt the best place to get honest and helpful feedback and assistance. I totally love it. ~ Elaine
Hi Elaine, I couldn’t agree more!! Best business decision I’ve ever made 🙂
Hope all is going well for you.
Cheers
Melissa
Thank you for your review of Affilorama. Seems like it is another useful site for learning affiliate marketing. I have not used this site before. We can as also be benefited from the free membership option which is good. I would have considered this platform if I did not join the wealthy affiliate. I joined wealthy affiliate in last month as a premium member. So far I have been enjoying working and learning here.
Hi Fahim,
In my view, if you’re a member of Wealthy Affiliate there’s no real need to join Affilorama. WA is the better option I believe. Hope you’re doing great at WA.
Cheers and all the best,
Melissa
