The best WordPress web hosting service in 2019
Reliable WordPress web hosting is an absolute must have for your online business. You cannot do without it, and it pays to find a quality web hosting company. So who is the best WordPress hosting provider? Firstly, we need to understand why reliable web hosting is so important.
The importance of reliable web hosting
You cannot just take for granted that your hosting is reliable and secure because you’ve paid for it. If hosting is unreliable, it means that your site could go offline when you least expect it. It is incredibly frustrating for visitors to your site to find it offline, especially if they have just found the perfect solution to their problem that would have been on your site. And your regular visitors won’t be coming back if you’re frequently going offline.
Whilst having your site go offline is frustrating for both you and your customers, imagine if it was removed altogether? This can be a reality if hosting is not secure, and it is not uncommon for hosting companies to want to save money on security, leaving sites vulnerable to security flaws and inviting hackers.
Having your site go offline or stolen are the worst case scenarios, but there are other more common issues with hosting that can be more visible and frequent:
- Site backups
- Backing up your own site is super important, and it is very quick and easy for you to do this. You should be doing it on a regular basis for your own piece of mind. A quality hosting provider will also do backups of your site periodically on the server side for additional security. Not all will, and it’s important that you research those who do.
- SSL issues
- SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is a layer of security that is added to your website which encrypts the communication from a browser to your website. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) looks favourably upon SSL, so it’s critical for your business to have it. Some hosting companies do not offer it, or if they do, they charge you additional fees for it.
- Slow server speeds
- Whilst there are plenty of things you can do to optimise the speed of your site (like compressing images), there are other things that you do not have control over on the hosting company’s side that will affect the speed of your site. When you are researching a provider, you need to seek out information on their site speed.
There are some excellent hosting providers out there, and many of them you will have heard of. The names that get thrown around a lot are HostGator and BlueHost. I will briefly go through them both.
HostGator
HostGator is a good choice for people on a budget.
There are some good plans available, with the starter plan being available for only $5.95 per month, if you sign up and pay for three years in advance. This will host one site. The price goes up to $7.95 per month if you have two sites, and more again if you have three.
If you don’t pay in advance and just pay by the month, you’ll be paying $14.99 monthly.
The offering is good, and you’ll be getting SSL, regular backups and impressive site speed. 24×7 support is available to you, and they will also help you migrate your service from your existing provider.
BlueHost
Bluehost is the one that I hear the most about. Their plans range from $19.95 per month up to $49.95 per month. These are ‘introductory offers’ and then the price goes up. There also other add-ons that you will need to pay for:
The feedback that I hear about Bluehost isn’t great and doesn’t reflect their pricing. I think one of the reasons for that is they have a very generous affiliate program:
$65 for each sign up! It is unsurprising then, that many people rave about it – they are being $65 for every sign up, even for the most inexpensive packages. Maybe I should become a Bluehost affiliate!!
The best WordPress hosting provider – Wealthy Affiliate

When it comes to hosting, they are the quiet achievers.

Because Wealthy Affiliate do daily backups, they will reinstate it for you.
A comparison of hosting features and fees
To summarise Wealthy Affiliate hosting
As you can see, the price of Wealthy Affiliate hosting compared to others is very competitive. But this has only covered the hosting aspect.

Melissa,
I enjoyed your post and feel the same way. Wealthy Affiliate offers the best WordPress hosting service and overall experience for building an online presence.
You’ve provide a great overview of other services and the key advantages to WA. For me, the price is a factor – and the fact that WA offers domain purchasing in the platform at a much more affordable price than most domain services.
Also – the ease of integration from content creation, editing, hosting and the training to support your online business make it an easy choice.
Well done!
Hi Pete,
One of the things I love about Wealthy Affiliate is how seamlessly everything integrates. The SiteContent Editor with access to 1,000,000+ images is awesome, and then click to publish has sped up my content creation and made life much easier. The fact that they host my sites too is a HUGE bonus.
Thanks for stopping by. All the best.
Cheers

With the quality of service delivery by the wealthy affiliate team, one can expect nothing less in terms of hosting and other allied web services. It is an all encompassing plartform of excellent services. Some other platform like the the Hostgator are also doing a great job providing top quality host services, I know a few friends who are so far satisfied wih the quality of service.
Hi Zuchii.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree that both Wealthy Affiliate and HostGator provide excellent hosting. Wealthy Affiliate has the added benefit of providing other services too that round out the platform beautifully.
All the best to you.
Cheers
Melissa
That’s a comprehensive and honest review. Reading through your article I’m convinced that I’ve made the right decision hosting my website at Wealthy Affiliate. I now understand why many so-called gurus of affiliate marketing recommend blueHost. That’s a lot of money to pump into just hosting and doesn’t make it friendly to people like us who want to build an online business.
This information has been helpful and thanks for taking your time to do that.
Hi DerrAd,
You’re very welcome. You’ve made a great decision going with Wealthy Affiliate : )
All the very best to you.
Cheers
