Views from my office August 2018

When your career is online, you can work from home or anywhere in the world.

Whilst being able to work from anywhere in the world might sound glamorous, the reality is that most of the time that I am making money online and getting my online career firmly entrenched, I am usually working from the comfort of my home. I love my home and the memories we create there. Home is where the heart is, right?

If I’m not working at home, I’m usually working from one of the many amazing cafes of Melbourne, or at an after school or weekend sporting activity.

 

One of our favourite outdoor skate parks

After a bitterly cold start to August, I was thrilled that we had a fabulous weekend towards the end of the month. We had sunshine, no chilly wind and happy times. So my boys and I had a chat. I asked what they’d like to do on this beautiful Sunday. The answer was resounding! An outdoor skate park and playground it was going to be.

Our favourite places are things like outdoor skate parks and playgrounds. My boys can spend literally hours outside on their scooters and playing in the playground. And that makes me so happy! I love that they are outside in the sunshine, enjoying being kids. They meet other kids and become instant best friends. Remember when that used to happen? Kids are so cool like that. Being in the same time at the same place means instant friendships are formed. There is never judgment or silliness, just kids being kids. I love that in the beautiful weather, they just want to go outside and experience it.

Knowing that the boys will be spending hours in the park, I go prepared! All I need is my laptop and my phone and away we go. They are all set for a day of fun, and I can watch them enjoy life whilst I also run my business. This really is the best of both worlds.

 

 

 

We had a beautiful day. The boys had such a wonderful time. I got to watch them master some tricks, and I also got some much-needed work done. We ended the day with a milkshake and cookies and we all went home tired but happy.

Coffee shops of Melbourne

I also did my usual coffee shop hop around Melbourne, which is always a delight.

For those of you who don’t know Melbourne, we are very well known for our coffee. We have somewhat of a coffee culture, and that suits me just fine! I owe it to my amazing city to explore its many delights! It certainly does make having an online career fun.

Flinders Lane is always a favourite of mine. It has so much character, and it makes Melbourne uniquely Melbourne.

 

 

One of the most fun places for kids in the world – Bounce!

I would have adored this place when I was a kid. Wall to wall trampolines, and a ninja warrior course. Kid heaven! We find ourselves here regularly which suits me just fine. The kids have an absolute blast. They master the most amazing tricks and feel joy and accomplishment when they do something awesome. I could never even attempt to do what they do. I’d do some pretty serious damage to myself if I attempted the flips and tricks they do. So I’m very happy to watch them and take videos which get studied closely once we are home.

Given the number of hours we are here, I do come prepared with my laptop. Thankfully there is excellent WiFi, so i get lots of work done.
